About The Position
Franciscan Health is seeking a Medical-Surgical Clinical Resource Nurse to provide compassionate nursing care while supporting professional development and evidence-based practice. The role focuses on identifying learning needs, developing unit education, improving orientation, and helping peers grow professionally. The nurse also provides patient education and support, obtains nursing histories, monitors and reports patient changes, and applies hospital and nursing guidelines in clinical practice. The position is part-time, with a 0.6 schedule and flexible hours Monday through Friday, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus in Lafayette, Indiana. Travel is required. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing / Patient Care.
- At least 2 years of Nursing/Patient Care experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State Licensing Board.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop unit education goals based on a comprehensive needs assessment.
- Serve as a leader who promotes the professional growth of peers.
- Develop, coordinate, maintain, evaluate, and improve components of the orientation process using evidence-based practice.
- Identify current and anticipate future learning needs.
- Provide counseling and support.
- Provide information on disease processes, illness prevention, and medications.
- Obtain accurate nursing histories.
- Assess, document, and report physiological and behavioral changes in patients.
- Implement hospital and nursing guidelines and procedures in clinical practice.
