About The Position

This role involves providing essential support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, focusing on their medical needs and transportation. The Medical Support Staff will accompany individuals to appointments, manage their medical information, and ensure the safe operation of company vehicles. This position requires a high degree of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to drive company vehicles.
  • Must be at least 21 years old with no minor traffic violations or at least 22 years old with up to 2 minor traffic violations.
  • Complete all initial and on-going training requirements within established time frames.
  • Complete annual CPR, First Aid, and OSHA training.
  • Obtain and maintain SOAR certification.
  • Pass Criminal History Check.
  • Meet Chrysalis driving policy requirements.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with employees and clients.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, e-mail.
  • Demonstrate professional phone etiquette and public relations when working with employees, outside professionals, state employees, and guardians.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to record and understand doctor notes.
  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and accompany individuals to medical appointments.
  • Manage at-risk adults with intellectual disabilities without other staff.
  • Fax prescriptions to pharmacy and fill prescriptions locally.
  • Maintain company vehicles.
  • Educate self on at-risk adults' medical history.
  • Update at-risk adults' medical history.
  • Record physicians' notes.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks and state documentation.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding at-risk adults' medical history/information.
  • Follow the Provider Code of Conduct according to DSPD standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Medical Coordinator.
