About The Position

Jamison Professional Services, Inc. (“Jamison”) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Medical Support Assistant. This is a 100% remote position for candidates residing within 50 miles of an eligible VISN 19 VA Medical Center. As a Medical Support Assistant, you will assist Veterans by scheduling appointments, coordinating community care referrals, maintaining patient information, and providing outstanding customer service while supporting VA healthcare operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must reside in the United States
• Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Typing speed of 50+ words per minute
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience in medical scheduling or healthcare administration
• Previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
• Experience in a call center or healthcare customer service environment
• Familiarity with VA systems such as CPRS, VistA, HSRM, PPMS, CTM, or similar healthcare applications is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments in accordance with VA policies.
• Process Community Care referrals using VA systems.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic information.
• Coordinate care with community healthcare providers.
• Answer incoming calls professionally and provide excellent customer service.
• Respond to patient and provider inquiries regarding services.
• Document information accurately within VA electronic health record systems.
• Monitor consults and appointment status to ensure timely completion.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and VA applications daily.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect sensitive patient information.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
