About The Position

The Medical Staff Scheduler is responsible for the coordination and oversight of patient scheduling for medical service providers to include APRNs and physicians. This role involves scheduling visits, particularly F2F compliance visits, while adhering to strict Medicare/Medicaid guidelines. The scheduler will collaborate with affiliate medical directors to ensure medical staff productivity and will contact patients and families to arrange medical staff visits.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of (3) years of related work experience in the healthcare field including prior experience in a contact call center environment and/or medical staff scheduling and/or clinical patient care experience
  • Previous experience utilizing an electronic medical record as well as scheduling software
  • Strong Excel skills including the ability to input/format/filter/sort data, create and manage worksheets/formulas and analyze data
  • Proficiency in Teams
  • Previous hospice experience including the ability to voice compassion towards patients and families
  • Strong medical terminology skills preferably related to hospice
  • Able to perform sedentary work with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet scheduling deadlines
  • Ability to effectively handle stressful situations professionally and calmly
  • Ability to demonstrate patient scheduling skills and communication effectively

Responsibilities

  • Schedules visits especially F2F compliance visits following strict Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
  • Works closely with affiliate medical directors to ensure productivity is met by medical staff.
  • Contact patients and families to schedule medical staff visits.
  • Represent the Company professionally at all times through care delivered and/or services provided to all clients.
  • Comply with all State, federal and local government regulations, maintaining a strong position against fraud and abuse.
  • Comply with Company policies, procedures and standard practices.
  • Observe the Company’s health, safety and security practices.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patients, families, colleagues and other sensitive situations within the Company.
