About The Position

The Medical Staff & Peer Review Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of medical records, physician documentation, and medical staff services functions. This includes oversight of physician peer review processes, physician compliance tracking, and reporting to leadership and the governing board. The role ensures adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. This is a full-time position based at the Edina Specialty Surgery Center, requiring availability between 5:00 AM and 4:30 PM, with standard working hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Revo Health partners with healthcare groups to deliver exceptional patient care, and this position will work closely with Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health).

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent required
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years' experience in HIM, medical staff services, or healthcare compliance preferred
  • Experience with peer review processes preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate tracking file for receipt of dictation and signatures.
  • Communicate with physicians and care teams to ensure timely documentation completion.
  • Meet annual departmental goals including chart audits and compliance tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal medical records requirements.
  • Process medical record requests, invoices, and track payments.
  • Retrieve appropriate chart documentation per facility policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Track completion of pathology reports.
  • Assist with patient registration and documentation as needed.
  • Retrieve hospital/ER records for transfer patients.
  • Coordinate and manage physician peer review process, including assignment, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Serve as central point of contact for peer review coordination and documentation.
  • Track and monitor physician incomplete records and communicate deficiencies.
  • Escalate non-compliance in accordance with medical staff bylaws.
  • Prepare and present reports to Medical Executive Committee and Governing Board.
  • Maintain logs and metrics related to physician compliance and peer review activity.
  • Support regulatory, accreditation, and audit readiness activities.
  • Assist in aligning processes with accreditation and compliance standards.
  • Report occurrences through established reporting processes related to employee and/or patient/visitor events.
  • Foster the developmental and educational process of self, colleagues, trainees and students.
  • Participate in continuing education and departmental development.
  • Assist in managing controllable costs by proper use of resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including Patient Services Representative functions and Non-Clinical Preadmission Coordinator functions.
