About The Position

Responsible for medical staff office functions, working closely with Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinators. Supports and incorporates the Frederick Health (FH) mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy into daily work. Adheres to the FH Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, and FH Standards of Behavior.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in credentialing or a medical staff services setting required.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including adult learning methods and problem-solving.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and work professionally with a diverse population.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in creating, composing, and editing written materials.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of credentialing software (preferably CredentialStream)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
  • Data interpretation and report creation skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Oversee onboarding for medical students and medical staff job shadowing.
  • Research, monitor, and update non-staff provider licensure and OIG status.
  • Collaborate with other departments to verify non-staff providers’ compliance with OIG and active medical licenses for ordering outpatient tests.
  • Work with IT to update provider dictionary (license expiration dates, office address changes).
  • Ensure accurate medical staff information is available to departments, committees, and the public.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Attend medical staff and other meetings as needed.
  • Prepare agendas, materials, and minutes for meetings.
  • Assist with communication regarding provider deficiencies and suspensions.
  • Support provider orientation and ID verification.
  • Monitor medical staff vaccine and mandatory CBL (computer-based learning) compliance.
  • Assist with reconciling invoices, statements, and check requests.
  • Process reappointments after Board Quality review.
  • Initiate CredentialStream Onboard workflows for new providers.
  • Assign CBLs in NetLearning.
  • Initiate IPPE reviews (90 days post-orientation for physicians; 30 & 60 days for APPs).
  • Initiate DrFirst e-prescribing requests.
  • Upload records into CredentialStream.
  • Discontinue user access upon resignation or suspension.
  • Reassign supervising physicians for Physician Assistants as needed.
  • Refine and troubleshoot CredentialStream reports.
  • Email deficiency notifications to physicians and APPs.
  • Initiate administrative suspension procedures.
  • Communicate restoration of administrative rights after suspension is lifted.
  • Prepare CDC quarterly Covid report.
