About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing administrative and credentialing support for the activities of the Medical Staff. It processes medical staff appointment and reappointment applications for staff membership and privileges, including all associated duties and provider enrollment with third-party payors. The role also involves making updates to medical staff bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Policies based on actions taken by Medical Staff. Additionally, it performs various office management duties such as preparing for meetings, filing, forms development and updating, taking meeting minutes, and managing employee databases.

Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • Clerical experience preferred
  • Good computer and word processing skills

Responsibilities

  • Processes medical staff appointment and reappointment applications for staff membership and privileges, including primary source verification.
  • Maintains credentials files, including continuous current copies of new licenses, DEA, and liability insurance.
  • Monitors and revises credentialing and privileging forms and functions as needed to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Schedules, attends, and records minutes for medical staff and committee meetings, and prepares board reports.
  • Accurately and timely tracks physician continuing education and meeting attendance.
  • Completes requests for references on physicians who have practiced at the facility.
  • Updates Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Policies based on approved changes.
  • Completes all provider enrollment applications and revalidations for third-party payors to ensure "in-network" status.
  • Performs various office management duties including assistance in preparing for meetings, filing, forms development and updating, and taking meeting minutes.
