About The Position

The Medical Staff Coordinator coordinates all aspects of the credentialing process to the established department policies and procedures. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff pre-screening, initial appointment, Advanced Practice Practitioner, reappointment, and temporary privileging by obtaining all required data for each applicant within the defined timelines. The coordinator will communicate appropriate information regarding provider status with the Credentialing Manager, Department and Division Chairs. They will maintain confidential credentialing files on all providers, including current staff status, current licensure and other certifications and clinical privileges. Additionally, the Medical Staff Coordinator will maintain the current computerized Cactus data base of all medical staff members and provide information regarding medical staff privileges to other departments as requested or required. Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in a hospital, legal, insurance, education or health care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of college with management emphasis.
  • 1 plus year of credentialing experience.
  • CPCS Certification.
