About The Position

The Medical Social Worker incorporates social work functions and skills into the inpatient hospital setting. As an integral member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Medical Social Worker supports individuals facing health-related challenges and bridges the gap between medical professionals and patients to address emotional, social, and practical needs alongside medical treatment. The role is in Social Services at UHS Wilson Medical Center and reports to the Director of Social Work. The position is non-exempt, has a rotational shift, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work.
NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or an NYS LCSW Limited Permit. Employees hired with a limited permit must obtain their full license within one year after obtaining the permit.
