About The Position

Odyssey is seeking a Medical Simulation Operator to support the 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The 711 HPW focuses on human-centric warfare research, education, and consultation. This role is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have NACI clearance.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Five years of clinical experience in a military or civilian setting.
  • At least two years of experience programming human patient simulators using primarily Laerdal, Gaumard & CAE simulator operating systems.
  • Must maintain Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • Must maintain current National Registered Paramedic (NRP) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of military medical/military deployment experience.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience with Audio/visual solutions.
  • Experience with moulage creation & application.
  • Experience with hyper-realistic simulators.
  • Experience with task-trainers.
  • Paramedic equivalent medical knowledge (RN level preferred) to manipulate physiological data and interpret participant responses.
  • Prior experience in course development and education methodology.
  • Knowledge of military trauma clinical skills, procedures, processes, including AFMS Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs).
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards.
  • Knowledge of military and civilian guidelines, policy & procedure through successful completion of USAFSAM’s and Department’s orientation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Learning Management System (LMS) and A/V solution for viewing and evaluating learner performance during training and simulation events.
  • Analyze team performance before and after simulated conditions to establish correlations.
  • Utilize, complete, collect, and track simulation evaluation tools.
  • Assist with the development, data collection, data analysis, and administration of pre- and post-simulation scenarios.
  • Prepare training environments, operate simulation equipment/assets, and recover equipment and environment.
  • Conduct orientation to simulation equipment and environment, and provide an overview of the human patient simulator.
  • Assist in the management and daily operations of the simulation training program.
  • Assist in the development of simulation program validation metrics.
  • Collaborate with program analysis, course curriculum advisors, course program director, IM/IT, medical logistics, and simulation center leadership to identify operational needs and develop recommendations.
  • Assist the program course director during patient simulation scenario reviews.
  • Develop and provide training, safety, and maintenance materials for simulation equipment.
  • Attend strategic planning meetings, teleconferences, and other meetings to improve simulated course experience and content delivery.
  • Assist and provide guidance for simulation center set-up and consultative assistance for future site expansion and high-fidelity HPS recommendations.
  • Ensure simulation education, program key elements, and learning objectives are considered, and that simulation training outcome measurements meet requirements.
  • Report needs regarding simulation supplies and equipment.
  • Operate simulation equipment, task trainers, computerized Hi-fidelity simulators, and virtual reality procedural trainers, making adjustments based on participant actions.
  • Create troubleshooting documents, simulation checklists, and simulation lesson plans/scenarios for review.
  • Support USAFSAM simulation research projects within the scope of the contractor's PWS.
  • Assist with train-the-trainer activities and basic equipment troubleshooting for additional cadre members.
  • Participate in operational exercises for professional development and exposure to CCAT mission operations.
