About The Position

The Medical Screener supports plasma center operations by screening plasma donors and performing phlebotomy. The role focuses on donor safety, customer service, and quality while helping collect plasma used to make life-changing medicines. It reports to the Plasma Center Manager and includes paid, interactive training. This is a part-time role, generally involving shifts of 4 to 6 hours a day, at least 3 days per week. Availability and scheduled shift days and times are confirmed early in the interview process, and schedule changes are communicated in advance. The position is based in Jacksonville, Florida, and requires working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above the shoulders and below the knees.
Ability to lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift materials up to 32 pounds, and rarely lift up to 50 pounds.
Fine motor coordination and depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
Prolonged glove wear is required for 90% of work tasks due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in a customer- or patient-facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

Answer phones and greet and focus on donors while ensuring donor and team safety.
Screen new and repeat donors and take and record donor vital signs and finger-stick results.
Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate center-process changes using company-approved procedures.
Perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations.
Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
