Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. The role involves assisting qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, referring donors to medical staff when appropriate, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. The position also involves performing finger sticks to obtain samples for hematocrit and total protein levels. Upon completion of training, may educate new donors on therapeutic products, the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and nutrition. Ensures all donor questions are answered accurately and professionally. May be involved in registering applicant and transfer donors, answering the telephone, and alerting staff of donor flow issues or donor reactions. Requires accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system and understanding hyper immune programs if applicable. Maintains a clean work environment, ensures sufficient supplies, and follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures, promoting safety in all actions. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. May be cross-trained in other areas and may require bilingual skills. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
