Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. Assists qualified donors in completing the screening process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, referring donors to medical staff, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature. Performs finger sticks to obtain samples for hematocrit and total protein levels. May educate new donors on therapeutic products, the screening process, health tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and nutrition. Ensures all donor questions are answered accurately and professionally. May be involved in registering applicant and transfer donors. May answer the telephone and assist callers. Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff. Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues. Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system. Understands policies and procedures for hyper immune programs. Maintains a clean and efficient work environment, ensuring sufficient supplies and forms. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures, promoting safety. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information. May be cross-trained in other areas. Bilingual skills may be required. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
