About The Position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) will prioritize contacts with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, and clinical investigators within an assigned U.S. region, providing scientific exchange and supporting the generation of actionable insights. This role serves as a field-based extension of the Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation (MA&EG) organization, supporting external engagement and contributing to the understanding of clinical practice, treatment dynamics, and emerging data within immunology and/or dermatology. The MSL / Sr. MSL is expected to deliver scientifically accurate, relevant, and increasingly insightful discussions, gather and communicate insights from the field, and support execution of regional priorities. With increasing experience, the role operates with greater independence, sound judgment, and scientific depth, contributing more meaningfully to insight interpretation, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

  • MD, NP, PA, PharmD, or PhD in a life science required
  • Specialization in Dermatology, Immunology, or Allergy preferred
  • Prior experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage in scientific discussions
  • Strong customer-facing, listening, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to learn and communicate complex scientific information
  • Ability to operate independently with increasing confidence and sound judgment
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and execution capabilities
  • Foundational understanding of clinical trial design and data interpretation
  • Ability to synthesize information and communicate insights effectively
  • Adaptability and ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to travel approximately 70%, including some weekends

Responsibilities

  • Engages in Medical-to-Medical scientific discussions including disease awareness, clinical data, and treatment considerations.
  • Communicates scientific information clearly and effectively to healthcare providers, investigators, and KOLs.
  • Develops and demonstrates increasing depth of knowledge and confidence in scientific exchange, including the ability to navigate more complex or nuanced discussions related to clinical data and treatment paradigms.
  • Builds credibility and trust as a scientific resource within the region and adapts communication appropriately across stakeholder types.
  • Responsible for gathering, synthesizing, and communicating insights from field engagement.
  • Identifies trends in clinical practice, perceptions of data, and factors that influence treatment decisions.
  • Provides more structured, contextualized, and actionable insights, demonstrating the ability to connect individual observations into meaningful themes.
  • Proactively shares insights with internal stakeholders and align with MA&EG partners, including HEOR and PRO functions, to support organizational understanding.
  • Executes field activities within assigned territory, including planning, prioritization, and engagement.
  • Demonstrates strong organization and time management skills in managing multiple priorities.
  • Operates with greater independence and ownership of the territory, effectively prioritizing high-value engagements and making informed decisions on how to allocate time and resources to maximize impact.
  • Applies scientific knowledge to understand and communicate clinical data.
  • Develops the ability to interpret study results and discuss findings appropriately with external stakeholders.
  • Develops confidence in independently interpreting clinical data, including the ability to translate findings into relevant clinical context for different audiences.
  • Supports clinical development activities, including engagement with investigators and clinical sites.
  • Participates in site identification, research discussions, and clinical trial awareness, as appropriate.
  • Contributes more actively to investigator engagement and study-related discussions, demonstrating a clearer understanding of clinical trial processes and site dynamics.
  • Provides scientific support for congresses, advisory boards, and other external engagements.
  • Maintains awareness of scientific literature, emerging research, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders within Medical Affairs to support field engagement and insight exchange.
  • Engages more actively with MA&EG partners, including HEOR and PRO, and demonstrates the ability to align field insights with internal priorities and information needs.
  • Engages healthcare providers and KOLs within assigned region.
  • Develops awareness of broader stakeholders and factors influencing clinical decision-making.
  • Engages a wider range of stakeholders, including larger practices and organizational influencers, with a growing understanding of practice dynamics and access considerations that influence treatment decisions.
