About The Position

Bavarian Nordic is looking for a Medical Science Liaison to help establish, manage, and maintain relationships with relevant external experts and key stakeholders in the Northeast United States. As our Medical Science Liaison for the Northeastern United States, you will be responsible for conducting trusted, unbiased scientific exchange in the field with prioritized stakeholders, key external experts and advocacy organizations in support of Medical Affairs’ strategies. You will report directly to the US Medical Affairs Regional Lead. You must demonstrate an elevated level of both scientific and medical knowledge, professional integrity and ethical standards for all interactions. You will be part of a global and fully integrated vaccine company committed to improving and saving lives through innovative vaccines.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, e.g., PharmD, NP, MD
  • Relevant experience related to medical affairs for licensed vaccines
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex scientific and medical details
  • Excellent verbal and written scientific communication skills, good network builder, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Irreproachable attention to ethics and compliance
  • Excellent decision making and creative problem-solving skills
  • Great sense of accountability and ability to work independently
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining existing external expert relations and identifying additional external experts for future collaboration in disease states of strategic importance for the company
  • Conducting peer to peer scientific discussions and meetings and maintaining a reliable presence with those scientific leaders to capture insights of use for the company and sharing them internally with the appropriate persons
  • Providing answers to scientific requests for information, in response to unsolicited requests from scientific leaders and medical community
  • Attending conferences, symposia, and scientific/clinical meetings to represent Bavarian Nordic and reporting back on competitive intelligence
  • Supporting potential investigators in submitting Investigator Initiated Studies to enhance the understanding of the scientific foundations and goals of the study and addressing investigator questions
