About The Position

The Medical Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling patients for the radiology department. This role involves inputting patient demographics and verifying insurance information. The position operates in a call center environment, with most interactions occurring over the phone. The scheduler will utilize the Genesis call platform, tracking call lengths and after-call work. Responsibilities include handling both inbound and outbound calls, monitoring abandon rates, and managing average handle times. Specific procedures like MRI or PEP scheduling may require longer call durations. A strong understanding of medical terminology is essential, along with the ability to manage a high call volume of 70-100 calls per day. The role also requires verifying patient demographics and determining necessary authorizations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare system
• EMR experience
• Microsoft Office experience
• Experience with administrative duties
• Medical terminology knowledge
• Ability to handle 70-100 calls a day
• Experience with call platforms like Genesis
• Understanding of call center metrics such as abandon rates and handle time
