About The Position

Advantmed is hiring Medical Records Technicians to travel to medical facilities and hospitals to scan patient medical records. Technicians receive a company-provided laptop and portable scanner. This is a part-time, seasonal position, with potential for extension depending on project requirements and needs. Advantmed’s mission is to improve the healthcare system by ensuring appropriate, quality care and eliminating unnecessary costs. Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Have a car and active insurance in the candidate’s name; registration documentation must be provided.
• Willingness to drive up to 60–80 miles or more round-trip.
• Internet access at home.
• Basic PC and office equipment skills.
• Availability from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm in the respective time zone to visit required facilities.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital, clinic, or medical office working with medical charts.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Intermediate knowledge of medical chart structure, content, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot common printer and scanner issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a record system for patient information and gather documents.
• Use electronic systems to collect, organize, and manage data.
• Ensure medical records are organized, accurate, and complete.
• Create digital copies of paperwork and store records electronically.
• File paperwork and reports quickly and accurately.
• Ensure HIPAA standards are met and follow confidentiality guidelines, rules, and procedures.
• Interact with medical staff, healthcare providers, and other medical personnel.
• Travel to assigned medical facilities and hospitals to scan patient medical records.

Benefits

• Pay of $18–$21 per hour or $3 per record, whichever is higher.
• Paid semi-monthly based on total hours worked or total records retrieved during the work period, whichever is higher.
