About The Position

Compass Medical Provider, LLC is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Technician to support the Utah Army National Guard with the management and tracking of soldiers’ health records. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced military healthcare environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in medical records or health administration
• Completion of annual HIPAA training required

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with military or government healthcare systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) platforms
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity

Responsibilities

• Track and maintain medical records for all assigned soldiers
• Perform administrative medical charting and request medical exams as needed
• Attend Periodic Health Assessment (PHA) events, based on state scheduling needs
• Upload and index medical documents into the Health Readiness Record (HRR) system
• Maintain accurate hard-copy and electronic medical records
• Ensure medical documentation is properly filed and accessible
• Obtain and manage Release of Information (ROI) as required
• Follow up on medical appointments and ensure compliance
• Communicate with soldiers to request and collect required medical documentation
• Provide SOP briefings to soldiers referred for further medical evaluation
• Respond promptly to voicemails and emails throughout the day
