About The Position

GLP Attorneys is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join their Spokane office. This is a full-time, in-office role, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Accurate typing skills of at least 50 words per minute.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Sound problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Solid understanding of clerical procedures and recordkeeping.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior clerical experience.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a team-focused environment.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree is preferred.
  • Experience working with medical records or in a law firm setting is strongly desired.
  • Experience in plaintiff personal injury law is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with assigned legal teams to retrieve, organize, and evaluate medical records.
  • Obtains and manages medical records.
  • Enters and maintains accurate data in case management systems.
  • Ensures the confidentiality and security of medical information in compliance with HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Applies RCW guidelines related to the cost and release of medical records and billing.
  • Proactively follows up with providers while maintaining clear communication with legal team members.
