Requirements

Proven experience as a Medical Records File Clerk or in a similar role within a healthcare setting
Knowledge of medical record-keeping procedures and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and office software
Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Additional certification in medical records management is a plus

Responsibilities

Organize, file, and retrieve patient medical records in accordance with established procedures
Ensure all records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations
Assist with scanning, indexing, and digitizing paper records as needed
Support administrative staff by providing requested records promptly and accurately
Conduct regular audits to verify the integrity and completeness of medical records
Follow proper procedures for record disposal and retention in accordance with legal and organizational policies
