About The Position

Miller's Health Systems, a 100% employee-owned company since 1964, is seeking a Medical Records Designee. This role is responsible for auditing and maintaining records of admissions, discharges, and in-house residents in compliance with state and federal regulations. The designee controls the release of information to authorized persons/entities, prepares necessary transfer information for residents moving between facilities, and prepares reports for Quality Assurance meetings.

Requirements

Licensed to work as a CNA/QMA, LPN, or RN in the state of Indiana.
At least one year of experience in a long term care setting.
Able to audit and maintain records of admissions and in-house residents according to and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
Professional in appearance and behavior.
Able to work with a dedicated team.
Maintain and control the release of information to authorized persons.
Highly organized.

Responsibilities

Auditing and maintaining records of admissions, discharges, and in-house residents in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Controlling release of information to authorized persons/entities.
Preparing and/or obtaining necessary transfer information when residents transfer to or from another facility.
Preparing necessary reports for Quality Assurance meetings.
Monitoring residents' mantoux reports and chest x-rays.
Entering data from Physicians Order form into computerized health record system.
Monitoring frequency of physician visits and notifying physicians when they are due for visits.
Carrying out additional duties as assigned.
