The Front Office Associate is responsible for welcoming, greeting, and checking in/out patients and collecting insurance and patient personal information. The Front Office Associate answers phones and calls patients to verify appointments, as well as assists in filing and maintaining patient files, both electronic and paper. This role requires the ability to perform patient check-in and check-out procedures, verify and update demographics and insurance information in the Electronic Medical Records system, scan and upload necessary documents, schedule patients, submit authorizations, and create referral letters. The position also involves collecting patient complaints, verifying medical history, documenting medications, performing basic visual acuity assessments and IOP tests, administering topical ophthalmic and dilation medications, preparing patients for treatment, assisting doctors, and maintaining a clean and orderly waiting area. Additionally, the role includes filing charts and other documents, receiving supply deliveries, maintaining professional appearance and demeanor, keeping the supervisor informed of progress, and ensuring strict compliance with all relevant regulations.
