About The Position

The Medical Receptionist provides front-office support in a busy dental practice, serving as the first point of contact for patients in a mobile clinic setting. This role focuses on delivering a positive patient experience by managing scheduling, communications, and administrative support for the dental team while ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate patient records.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage high-volume phone calls professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform front desk and clerical duties accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow healthcare office policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma (H.S. Diploma) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a dental or broader healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare administrative processes, including appointment coordination and patient check-in/check-out.
  • Ability to coordinate daily schedules and manage patient flow in a fast-paced setting.
  • Comfort working in both mobile clinic and traditional office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner at the mobile clinic and other designated locations.
  • Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule dental appointments as needed to support patient access and clinic efficiency.
  • Manage high-volume phone calls while maintaining excellent customer service and a calm, professional demeanor.
  • Enter and update patient information accurately in the electronic scheduling system and other electronic medical record (EMR) platforms.
  • Coordinate daily schedules to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize patient wait times.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and comply with office policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Support dental office operations by performing front desk and clerical duties, including check-in, check-out, and documentation handling.
  • Assist with prior authorizations and other administrative tasks related to patient care as assigned.
  • Collaborate closely with the dental and healthcare team to ensure clear communication and efficient clinic operations.
  • Adapt to working in a mobile clinic environment and, when needed, support operations at the brick-and-mortar site.
