As a Per Diem Float Medical Receptionist, also known internally as a Flex Member Support Specialist (Casual), you will serve as an ambassador for patients in the office, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to service. Your role will be to remove barriers to care, ensuring an exceptional in-office patient experience. You will be responsible for maintaining the office environment to align with the One Medical brand and will be the primary point of contact for patient feedback. You will also provide additional support as directed by the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or in-office providers. This role supports multiple offices within a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). You are expected to be a strong team player, utilizing innovative problem-solving skills to manage various tasks and challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. You should be adept at identifying opportunities and delivering customer-centric solutions with empathy, focus, and compassion in all interactions. Self-awareness is key to leveraging strengths and developing areas for improvement. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in high-touch customer or patient-facing roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, and feedback-driven multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A proven track record of persisting through change, demonstrating a forward-thinking perspective under pressure, and consistently taking action on challenges.
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, internet navigation, and using multiple software systems simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Use the C-I-CARE framework in all patient interactions to ensure a fluid and positive in-office experience, including patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback, and assisting with outreach as necessary.
  • Perform all front-of-house duties, including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, handling paperwork, preparing tests, and meeting service level expectations.
  • Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in problem-solving, and supporting in-office providers with ad-hoc requests.
  • Master the technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and the Electronic Medical Record System (1Life), for interacting with team members and patients and completing daily tasks.
  • Perform opening and closing duties and daily office upkeep, including maintaining the appearance of patient and employee-facing spaces, restocking supplies, and ensuring organization.
