About The Position

The Medical Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors to attend to all callers/visitors promptly. The Medical Receptionist performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support/computational tasks. Typically, work on routine and patterned assignments. Reports to the Center Administrator.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more years of experience working in a Healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records)
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Operate a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintain long distance call logs.
  • Take and distribute accurate messages.
  • Greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintain visitor logs.
  • Alert appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as our location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and email address.
  • Miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages.
  • Limit decisions to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and work under close guidance and within established guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.
