The Medical Receptionist is responsible for performing office duties, record keeping functions, and receptionist duties, administrative and follow-up functions in order to assist in the operation of a medical office. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the healthcare field required.
  • Computer proficiency, organizational skills, flexibility in meeting multiple demands in fast paced work environment required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or graduate of accredited medical assistant/administrative training program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a team of outpatient clinical and medical schedules using computer and manual methods.
  • Liaison between client registration and clinicians with scheduling follow-up appointments and psychiatric evaluations.
  • Answer the secretarial support line and managing appointments or triaging to appropriate other staff to manage the call.
  • Take payments and check clients in for appointments.
  • Reschedule all medical appointments and others as requested.
  • Maintain clinical and medical caseloads.
  • Monitor for inactivity and accuracy.
  • Review previous day’s schedules to facilitate no show letters are completed, medical staff appointments are coded as indicated on the superbills, and that all services for the clinical team are marked ready to complete.
  • Review medical charts for next day services to ensure all information is ready for medical staff.
  • Type correspondence, memos, or other project assignments as requested.
