About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join their Primary Care Frontline team. This role is crucial for both patient experience and clinic operations, especially in a fast-paced setting. The Medical Receptionist will support a team of clinicians and help care for a high volume of patients daily by managing patient flow, coordinating communication, and delivering outstanding front-line service. The clinic provides care across Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Pediatrics, and Family Medicine, serving patients of all ages. The role involves supporting the department/site, ensuring quality service through timely and courteous assistance, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Employees are expected to provide excellent customer service, complete work in a timely and professional manner, support process improvement, identify themselves and the department in phone interactions, accept related tasks, and maintain a clean work area.

Requirements

  • 6 months related experience
  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the following types of equipment: telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photo copier and fax machine.

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly and accurately answering and responding to incoming telephone calls from patients and/or employer groups.
  • Greeting patients.
  • Collecting co-pays.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals.
  • Supporting departmental clerical duties.
  • Providing support to the department/site ensuring quality service through timely and courteous assistance.
  • Providing service support to patients and employers groups who request care.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality to protect patient rights.
  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Completing defined work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supporting on-going process improvement and organizational/department changes.
  • Identifying self and department in all phone interactions.
  • Accepting additional related tasks.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
