About The Position

Aston Carter is hiring a Medical & Dental Front Desk Receptionist for a full-time, permanent position in Spring Valley, NY. This role involves greeting patients, managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, handling patient information in EMR systems, coordinating provider schedules, assisting with administrative tasks like prior authorizations and referrals, maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, and communicating with staff. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience as a medical/dental/healthcare receptionist, experience with EMR and scheduling software, familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance tasks, strong data entry, organizational, and multitasking skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience as a medical, dental, or healthcare receptionist
  • Experience with EMR systems and appointment scheduling software
  • Familiarity with prior authorizations and insurance‑related tasks
  • Strong data entry, organizational, and multitasking skills

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Answer and manage a high volume of phone calls with exceptional customer service
  • Schedule, confirm, cancel, and adjust appointments to support efficient provider workflows
  • Accurately enter, update, and manage patient information within EMR and scheduling systems
  • Coordinate daily provider schedules to ensure smooth patient flow and minimal wait times
  • Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other medical/dental administrative processes
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to address patient needs
  • Support general front‑desk, clerical, and office operations as needed
