About The Position

Busy Mental Health Clinic is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Receptionist to join our team. This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and provides exceptional customer service. As the first point of contact for our patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional experience. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, answering phones, verifying patient information, collecting payments, and ensuring the efficient flow of the front office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Front desk experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Proficient with computers and basic office software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer service-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of medical office or medical reception experience preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.
  • Behavioral health experience preferred.
  • Enjoys working with people and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Communicates professionally and compassionately.
  • Can effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a busy office.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general inquiries.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances while following applicable billing guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Protect patient privacy by following HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with clerical and administrative duties, including filing, scanning, and document management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area.
  • Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient care.
