Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate students looking for only a summer job or that would need to work part-time during the school year. Job Title: Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) Company: Byrd & Wyandotte Eye Clinic Location: On-site at our office in Wyandotte, MI Travel: Travel to our other offices in Brownstown, Wayne and Dearborn, MI is required as needed. We do pay mileage reimbursement! Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Favorable result on Background Check
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong customer service skills

  • Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
  • Reliable transportation that would allow employee to go to multiple work locations with minimal notice
  • Minimum Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum Required: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Travel to our other offices in Brownstown, Wayne and Dearborn, MI is required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient flow
  • Verify medical and vision insurances
  • Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
  • Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in person requests
  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone).
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times
  • Practice urgency at all times with patients’ time, as well as Doctor’s time and schedule
  • Manage patient flow in the office
  • Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments
  • Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer
  • General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager
