Supports delivery of patient care by providing clerical and receptionist services to patients, families, visitors, staff, physicians, departments that support patient care, and all other customers of a Patient Care Unit with regular guidance. Facilitates efficient workflow, supports appropriate use of technology, and fosters effective communication. This role is within the Surgical ICU (SICU) and involves caring for adult patients aged 18 and older who are being treated for sepsis, recovering from liver transplants, undergoing large abdominal or vascular surgeries, and managing many other complex illnesses, often involving multi-organ failures. The position requires processing orders, entering and updating computer systems, maintaining unit logs, making follow-up appointments, performing discharge clerical tasks, responding to patient calls, and utilizing various communication and equipment systems. The role also includes ordering and maintaining supplies cost-effectively. The department offers non-stop learning opportunities due to the varied diagnoses of patients.
