About The Position

Scotch Institute of ENT, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist. This position will primarily be based at our main office in Wesley Chapel (Seven Oaks area), with potential travel to our Trinity (New Port Richey) location as needed. Our practice focuses on ENT (adult and pediatric), Hearing, Allergies, and Sleep Medicine, and we have a team of 4 physicians, a nurse practitioner, and 2 physician assistants. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Medical Receptionist capable of multitasking, motivated, able to handle a high volume of patients, phone calls, and charts. We are looking for a self-starter with experience in EMR, medical records, and patient check-in/check-out, who is also willing to learn all aspects of the ENT and Audiology field.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year previous experience in a medical practice preferred but willing to train the right candidate
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice
  • The ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong computer literacy

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Providing superior customer service to all patients and guests
  • Answering multi-line phones
  • Greeting patients upon arrival, signing them in, and obtaining insurance information and any other necessary data
  • Providing patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
  • Processing payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits
  • Verifying insurance
  • Scheduling appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and PA/NP availability
  • Providing patients with support and guidance as needed
