About The Position

Join our Pediatrics Specialty Practice as a Medical Receptionist in a dynamic, high-energy environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping patients, staying organized, and being part of a fast-paced, supportive team. Key responsibilities include accurate patient registration, co-pay collection, and scheduling, as well as providing clerical support to internal and external customers. The practice is part of Trinity Health Of New England, a group of primary care providers, specialists, and surgeons serving patients in Connecticut and western Massachusetts, offering a comprehensive range of medical services including primary care, specialty care, surgery, urgent care, rehabilitation, and imaging and lab services.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent keyboard skills.
Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products.
Accuracy and dependability required.

Nice To Haves

Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred.
Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
Verifies active primary and secondary third-party payer insurance coverage eligibility with the payers via prescribes format.
Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner
Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.
Accurately registers patients ensuring that the information required is obtained confirming identity, address, phone numbers, PCP, insurance, co-pay and other pertinent information in order to complete patient registration.
