About The Position

Desert Radiology, a Radiology Partners practice, is hiring a Medical Receptionist for its South Rainbow location in Las Vegas. The receptionist welcomes patients, provides directions and information, and assists with forms and exam preparation. The role enters or verifies patient, referring physician, insurance, and exam information in radiology information systems to ensure accuracy. It also involves reviewing appointments, contacting patients to confirm appointment details and explain preparation requirements, scheduling exams according to physician and facility availability, ordering labs as needed, and answering phones while responding to patient needs promptly and appropriately.

Requirements

Knowledge of medical reception tasks, clinic procedures, medical terminology, and paperwork processing requirements.
Knowledge of and experience using office equipment, including telephone, fax, computer, and photocopier.
Experience using radiology-related computer systems (RIS/PACS).
Ability to communicate clearly in person and by telephone.
Ability to use interpersonal skills to interact effectively with physicians, facility staff, patients, and families when providing instructions or responding to questions.

Responsibilities

Greet patients politely, promptly, and helpfully; provide directions, information, and other assistance as needed.
Provide patients with appropriate forms for completion and signature.
Provide exam preparation instructions and materials when necessary.
Enter and/or verify patient, referring physician, insurance, and exam information in RIS/PACS.
Review scheduled appointments and contact patients by telephone to confirm appointment date, time, and location.
Advise patients of any procedure preparations when necessary.
Schedule patient exams based on physician and facility availability.
Order labs as necessary.
Answer phones pleasantly and handle patient needs promptly and appropriately.
