About The Position

This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours and no set schedule. The primary purpose of this role is to provide coverage when team members are out or when additional staffing support is needed. This position floats between three cancer clinic locations and does not have a designated home clinic. The primary work locations will be Village Pointe Health Center and Bellevue Medical Center, with the potential to float to Nebraska Medical Center based on staffing needs. We anticipate approximately 1-2 shifts per week, with the potential for additional or longer-term coverage depending on staffing needs and planned absences. Busiest days are generally Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with occasional needs on Fridays. Clinic hours generally begin at 7:30 a.m., with the latest patient appointments around 5:00 p.m. Shift times will vary based on clinic needs and will not follow a set schedule. Flexibility to work at all three clinic locations is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service to physicians, patients and other internal/external customers required.
  • Ability to work professionally with physicians, clinic staff and patients in a timely, confidential manner required.
  • Demonstrated analytical, prioritization and organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team environment required.
  • Effective communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • One year post-secondary education with coursework in business, medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity (one year of education equals one year of experience) preferred.
  • Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel preferred.
  • Depending on the position available, fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact by greeting and welcoming patients and others, (in person, at the check-in desk, or via the telephone).
  • Responsible for answering incoming calls in a professional manner, and/or checking in / out patients per established protocols.
  • Responsible for scheduling patient appointments and registering patients.
