About The Position

Intermountain Centers is seeking career-minded individuals for opportunities within the largest adult and child service continuum in Arizona. As a Medical Receptionist, you will perform administrative functions for the medical staff of Intermountain Centers’ Tucson Health Home, a psychiatric outpatient clinic, under the supervision of the Medical Services Manager. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • 2-4 years of office experience, including working with the public, required
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment).
  • Current, valid Arizona Driver’s License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements, if required.
  • Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).

Nice To Haves

  • medical office experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greets members and visitors in person, or by telephone, answering or referring their inquiries.
  • Schedules appointments in person, or by telephone.
  • Assists with keeping members’ appointments on schedule by notifying staff of member’s arrival.
  • Provides customer service by answering members’ questions; conducts interactions in a confidential, courteous, professional and timely manner.
  • Maintains the reception area, keeping it organized and tidy.
  • Routinely checks with nursing staff to provide assistance with certified mail, copying, faxes, chart retrieval, etc.
  • Maintains office equipment. Performs inventory control and orders supplies.
  • Gathers information on community resources for medical staff.
  • Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
  • Develops, maintains and updates files, logs, manuals and handbooks for medical staff.
  • Maintains an approved schedule, and acceptable level of attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or necessary as they relate to the general nature of position.
