About The Position

Provide specialized instruction and support services in order to develop combat leaders, highly trained recovery specialists and military freefall jumpmasters for the United States and its allies. For training on approved course curriculum to assist in maintaining fully mission capable Pararescue Jumpers (PJ), Combat Rescue Officers (CRO), Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Specialists, and other AFSPECWAR specialists as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be a former trained medic qualified at the Joint Special Operations Medical Training Center (JSOMTC) as a special operations medic or possess equivalent qualifications, such as a PJ (Pararescue), Navy SARC (Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman), US Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 18 Delta, 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment) medic, or Army Ranger. Regiment.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of documented experience with Guardian Angel or Special Operations Forces (SOF) community experience.
  • Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students on AFSPECWAR related Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) to include but not limited to, prolonged field care of critical patients, PJ Medical Treatment Protocols, the structure of the Joint Military Trauma System, aero-medical evacuation platforms and capabilities.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in instructing in the following subjects: Live Tissue Training, LTT Models, Trauma.
  • Proficient knowledge of Prolonged Field Care procedures in the military setting. Knowledge of Technical Rescue Techniques and Operations, i.e. technical rope rescue, confined space rescue, vehicle extrication. Thorough understanding of the Joint Trauma Management System.
  • Assist in the process for maintaining accountability for instructional material and student reference products such as collections (e.g. the syllabi of instruction (SOI’s), student critiques and end of course critiques, After Action Reports (AAR’s), and consolidated inputs from other instructors into weekly Commanders Update Brief (CUB)).
  • Serve in military parachuting duties which encompass High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) and High-Altitude High-Opening (HAHO) operations. Member may assist in MFF Jumpmaster Course support and to support airborne operations.
  • Support activities to support training requirements, including but not limited to operating safety boats, wing boats, advanced rescue crafts (ARC), and off-road tactical vehicles.
  • Conduct instructor duties in hazardous environments and conditions including instruction of students in and around military aircraft (i.e. rotary wing and fixed wing aircraft) during ground and flying operations, live fire operations on static ranges and dynamic realistic shooting environments during day and night.
  • Perform Drop Zone Control Officer duties IAW USAF directives and regulations.
