About The Position

Our Medical Receptionist will greet and schedule patients and visitors, call patients to remind them of appointments, answering and routing calls, making transactions, and keeping paperwork organized. The Receptionist mainly uses phones and computers to communicate with patients and staff, so they must have basic knowledge of computers. Must interact frequently with patients, medical professionals, and supervisors, and must have excellent communication skills and have a personable demeanor. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m., with weekend mornings (Saturday & Sunday) and holiday rotation required. Location: Based in: North Tampa at 5245 Fletcher Ave, Occasional travel to other offices as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED - required
  • 1 year of MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE OR MEDICAL CALL CENTER experience is required
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, compassionate, and professional first point of contact by greeting patients and visitors, answering telephones, and directing inquiries to the appropriate team members while ensuring exceptional patient service.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling by arranging, confirming, and updating appointments, follow-up visits, procedures, and physician referrals to support efficient clinic operations.
  • Facilitate clear and timely communication between patients, physicians, laboratory staff, and clinical team members to ensure continuity of care while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
  • Accurately prepare, maintain, and organize medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence in accordance with clinic policies and privacy regulations.
  • Assist patients with completing insurance, registration, consent, and privacy documentation, verifying information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism, providing appropriate information and escalating clinical inquiries to the healthcare team as needed.
  • Support daily clinic operations by completing administrative tasks, participating in special projects, and performing additional duties as assigned to promote a positive patient experience and an efficient workflow.
