Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking a Medical Receptionist / Front Desk professional for their Leander location. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting
  • Computer experience
  • Fluent in Spanish (required)
  • Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask between multiple applications
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform all responsibilities of the reception area, including checking in and checking out patients.
  • Schedule new and follow-up appointments.
  • Verify insurance benefits and collect payments due at the time of service.
  • Answer telephones, schedule appointments, and redirect calls to appropriate departments.
  • Confirm appointments in advance and reach out to patients when necessary.
  • Prepare schedules for the clinic and identify any issues prior to visits.
  • Greet patients, check them in, and assist them in completing necessary intake forms.
  • Confirm, capture, and correct any changes in patient demographics and insurance.
  • Verify insurance and obtain benefits, identifying remaining deductible amounts and/or copays to collect.
  • Collect patient payments according to their benefits and as noted within the EHR and other applicable software.
  • Collect and scan patient’s insurance card and photo ID.
  • Mail no-show letters daily.
  • Review daily superbills for completion from the clinic team, making necessary edits to collect proper time-of-service payment due at check-out.
  • Balance payments received and prepare the deposit daily.
  • Complete all scheduling tasks, messages, requests, referrals, and faxes.
  • Return voicemails and make attempts to contact patients who have left voicemails.
  • Provide EOB to patients and explain balances as needed.
  • Fax DWC forms to proper recipients.
  • Collate, sort, and identify medical information for scanning/queuing into the EMR system.
  • Sort faxes, assist with fax failures, and distribute them to appropriate departments.
  • Assist with Release of Information requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
