About The Position
US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Remote Medical Practice Scheduler for our HeartPlace Electrophysiology Clinic located in the DFW area. Applicant does need to live in the Dallas / Fort Worth TX Metroplex.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant certification required or must obtain within 90 days of hire date.
- At least one year of clinical experience in a front office /scheduling role.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced imaging scheduling experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and cancelling all procedure(s).
- Obtains and keeps up to date on all prior authorizations.
- Contacts area facility for available time for procedure.
- Educates patient on all aspects of the procedure that is scheduled.
- Schedules all pre-op clearance appointments with PCP or specialist.
- Coordinates all paperwork is needed (Including: complete order sets, H & Ps and imaging).
- Works with physician to keep preoperative, surgical protocols updated.
- Schedules all initial follow-up appointments from procedure.
- Completes informed consents.
- Calls in prescriptions according to MD protocol for procedure.
- Other duties as assigned.
