About The Position

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a faculty member for its Clinical Medical Physics Division. This role will focus on driving innovation and clinical implementation in medical physics, with oversight of safety, quality, and accreditation processes, particularly for X-ray-based modalities and ultrasound. Essential skills include excellent communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, radiologists, medical physics colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. The position involves direct support and leadership for tasks such as specifying new equipment software and hardware, performing periodic imaging system performance evaluations, developing advanced clinical applications and procedures, study design, and integrating/optimizing clinical and research protocols. Teaching responsibilities may extend to radiology and medical physics residents, as well as allied health staff like technologists, sonographers, and nurses. Experience with mammography and MQSA qualification is mandatory. The role encourages clinical research and development, including conference presentations, journal publications, and pursuing external grant funding.
