About The Position

Hampton Proton is seeking interns for its Medical Physics Internship program. As the nation's 8th proton therapy facility and one of the largest free-standing proton clinics globally, Hampton Proton offers a state-of-the-art treatment and research center. The facility has four gantry rooms and one fixed beam room and has been treating various cancers since August 2010. The internship program is designed to provide valuable experience in a leading healthcare environment focused on conquering cancer and saving lives. Interns are considered vital members of the team, and their contributions are essential to achieving excellence.

Requirements

  • Proof of being currently enrolled in a program of study or a recent graduate (within 12 months) from an accredited college/university or technical/vocational institution.
  • Proof of good academic standing (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
  • Proof of academic class schedule.
  • Recent resume and/or cover letter.
  • Applicable course syllabus if academic credit will be applied from your educational institution.

Nice To Haves

  • Create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation at the completion of the Internship Program, to be performed in a session with other Student Interns where mentors/supervisors will attend. Topics should focus on college/university and major, post-graduation plans, internship learnings, completed tasks/projects, developed skills and abilities, professional strengths and weaknesses, most enjoyed aspects of the internship, and suggestions for future interns.
