Medical Physicist (Therapy)
About The Position
The Division of Medical Physics at The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible therapeutic medical physicist to join our group. This position will provide clinical service to the Network Department of Radiation Oncology. The UVM Medical Center is located in Burlington, VT, offering a vibrant lifestyle with abundant outdoor activities and cultural scenes. Radiation Oncology at UVMMC is housed in a LEED certified space and is equipped with three linacs, HDR, a CT simulator, and active special procedure programs. The health system is undergoing a major technology transition, including the installation of modern Varian linear accelerators and the implementation of cloud-based Aria and Eclipse systems. This role primarily supports UVMMC on-site, with potential for limited travel to partner sites within the UVM Health system. The organization values work-life balance, offering opportunities for remote work one day per week on average. The Division of Medical Physics also contributes to the academic mission through research and educational support for various residency programs and has plans to develop new medical physics residency programs. Candidates with a PhD and a track record of academic productivity may be considered for a faculty track position, given the shared campus with the UVM Larner College of Medicine. Physicists are actively involved in resident education, clinical trials, teaching undergraduates, and national/international society initiatives.
Requirements
- MS, DMP, or PhD in medical physics required.
- Must be fully board certified within 3 years of hire.
- Board-certification or board-eligibility by the ABR, CCPM, or equivalent is required.

- Candidates holding the PhD and having a track record of academic productivity and interest, may be considered for faculty track.
