About The Position

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a passionate and driven Medical Oncology PA/NP to join their dynamic team. This role is based in the Chaska clinic with regular travel to Waconia and Arlington, MN, making it ideal for those passionate about rural healthcare. Requirements

Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education (for NP)
Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner (for NP)
Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP
Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program (for PA)
Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant (for PA)
Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required
Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred

Nice To Haves

Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment
Prefer previous experience in oncology (for NP)
Prefer previous experience in oncology (for PA)

Responsibilities

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
May promote/provide staff education.
Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls.
May mentor new advanced practice providers.
May precept APP students.
Other duties as assigned.
