About The Position

Provides general Medical Assistant assistance to Hematology and Oncology physicians and advanced practice providers in an outpatient setting in the clinic or in infusion. The staff member demonstrates competency in applying principles when providing individualized care to medical oncology patients. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
  • CPR-preferred
  • Adolescents
  • Adults
  • Geriatrics
  • Epic (if applicable to position)
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general Medical Assistant assistance to Hematology and Oncology physicians and advanced practice providers in an outpatient setting in the clinic or in infusion.
  • Demonstrates competency in applying principles when providing individualized care to medical oncology patients.
  • Support the goals and mission of Mercy Medical Center, in particular the commitment to providing all patients easy access to high quality care, service and value.
  • Will be required to travel to satellite offices.
