About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Specialist to join our Primary Care and Walk-In Clinic. As a Medical Office Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the clinic by providing administrative support to the medical staff and patients.

Cedar Valley Medical Specialists is 100 percent independent and 100 percent locally owned. Our staff includes specialized physicians as well as advanced practice and mid-level providers and support staff across dozens of healthcare specialties. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred
• Knowledge or coursework in medical billing and coding preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
• Collect patient information and update medical records
• Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
• Process patient payments
• Maintain inventory of office supplies and order as needed
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies
