About The Position

General Infomatics, Inc. is seeking a full-time Medical Office Clerk for a civil contract position at Whiteman AFB, MO. This role provides essential clerical and administrative support within a medical treatment facility. The position involves a wide range of duties including data collection, interpretation, and presentation, as well as direct patient interaction and record management. The company is committed to supporting veterans, transitioning personnel, military spouses, and military families.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified typist with a minimum of 50 WPM.
  • General medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • At least 6 months of experience in an office setting.
  • Familiarity with Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
  • Familiarity with Composite Health Care Systems (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS.
  • Familiarity with Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).
  • Familiarity with Military Filing System (by sponsor social security, terminal digit order, color-coded and blocked filing system).
  • Understanding of the contents of a military medical record, layout, sections, family members prefix designation, forms used in a MTF, and medical record tracking procedures.
  • Must be able to pass a US government security investigation and a thorough job verification.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients/visitors at a front desk, information center, or office setting.
  • Checking patients in and out using the electronic health system.
  • Answering the main office phone line and directing calls.
  • Taking messages as required.
  • Arranging and scheduling medical appointments.
  • Determining patient eligibility for services.
  • Obtaining updates and filing medical records.
  • Explaining and processing intake forms.
  • Organizing and researching patient records, extracting needed information, and reviewing records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Initiating and locating patient medical records and ensuring their arrival before appointments.
  • Obtaining documentation requested by healthcare providers (e.g., test results).
  • Performing other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support.
  • Creating appointment schedules and templates in the patient appointment computer system.
  • Performing medical data entry from MHS-GENESIS into the electronic health record.
  • Conducting end-of-day processes and resolving delinquent or pending appointments.
  • Tracking diagnostic testing results and providing hard copy results or entering requests for telephone consultation.
