About The Position

MES is hiring a Part-Time Medical Office Assistant in Rocky Hill, CT! If you're looking for a flexible, hands-on role in a medical office setting, we'd love to hear from you. As a Medical Office Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our physicians and helping ensure a positive experience for examinees. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, assisting with patient preparation, and supporting physicians during examinations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications and laboratory values.
  • Must possess knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
  • Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to managements’ directions accurately.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
  • Ability to travel daily as the position requires.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment.
  • Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and or stressful conditions.
  • Must possess the ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures in effect at time of hire and as they may change or be added from time to time.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of six months on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Route examinee to appropriate room.
  • Review chart and verify examinee information is available for examining physician
  • When necessary, chaperon examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician.
  • Responsible for set-up and cleanliness of exam rooms and report any issues or maintenance needs to management
  • Maintain a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
  • Ensure all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
  • Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
  • Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
  • Participate in various educational and or training activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
