About The Position

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina. This role provides administrative coverage at the front desk of the Clinic, including monitoring the clinic appointment line for scheduling appointments, answering multiline telephones, taking payments, completing client registration and documentation, scheduling interpreters, and retrieving billing charges. The position also involves coordinating and participating in daily clinic preparation, patient identification, check-in/out, charge posting, cash management, and ancillary scheduling and preparation, as well as referrals management.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency plus one year of patient care experience in a health care facility; or a Certified Nursing Assistant; or successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution or equivalent training; or EMT or Paramedic certification; or a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative coverage at the front desk of the Clinic.
Monitor the clinic appointment line to schedule appointments for clients from outside medical, hospital, and correction systems.
Answer multiline telephones.
Take payments from clients for clinical services.
Complete client registration and documentation.
Schedule interpreters for clients.
Retrieve billing charges.
Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling.
Perform customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation, and referrals management.
