Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • One (1) year of customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations.
  • Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering essential front-line administrative support.
  • Creates a welcoming and efficient experience by ensuring a smooth, accurate registration process and supporting timely access to care.
  • Greets patients and their families.
  • Verifies demographic and insurance information.
  • Collects payments and outstanding balances.
  • Completes all pre-registration, registration, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Performs all tasks within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Conducts insurance verification.
  • Schedules follow-up and referral appointments as needed.
  • Meets established productivity and service quality benchmarks while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Supports care coordination efforts.
  • Contributes to a team environment focused on delivering exceptional customer service and patient-centered care.
  • Optimizes the patients’ experience and clinic efficiency time by scheduling appointments appropriately, either by phone or in person.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information accurately and effectively.
  • Collects Co-pays and prior patient balances.
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Performs customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and referrals management.
  • Interacts with medical professionals and other care team members from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Obtains and updates demographic and insurance information for all patients.
  • Meets standard productivity metrics while performing the pre-registration and registration process.
  • Completes all regulatory and compliance related forms for the visit.
  • Completes verification and payment workflow, including screening for potential funding sources, and setting patient expectations for reimbursement.
  • Demonstrates commitment to positive patient and family experiences and excellence in customer service.
